LAZY DAY CHERRY COBBLER 
1 stick butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. self-rising flour
3/4 c. milk
1 can pitted unsweetened cherries, not drained (303 size can)
1/2 c. sugar (topping)

Put butter in a deep dish, place in oven to melt. Beat together sugar, flour and milk to a smooth batter. Pour over melted butter but DO NOT STIR. Empty undrained fruit over batter and sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Batter will rise to top. Can use peaches, apricots or pineapple.
