PUMPKIN NUT BREAD 
2 c. pumpkin (fresh baked or canned)
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 1/4 c. Crisco shortening
3 c. sifted flour
2/3 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
3 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. nutmeg

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two loaf pans. Set aside.

Mix sugar, eggs, shortening and pumpkin with beater. In large mixing bowl, sift flour and add salt, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Add slowly to pumpkin mixture and beat well. Last, add buttermilk and walnuts. Bake for 1 hour or until cake tests done with a toothpick. Sift powdered sugar over top of cakes.
