FRENCH TOAST 
3 large eggs
2/3 c. milk
1/3 c. beer
1/4 tsp. sugar
Salt, freshly ground pepper
4 or more tablespoons sweet butter
8 slices day old white bread

Combine all the ingredients, except the bread, in a pie pan, and beat lightly with a fork until mixed. Heat the butter in a large skillet. Dip slices of bread in the egg mixture and when the butter in the skillet bubbles, add to the skillet and saute until brown on both sides, adding more butter if needed. Serve with syrup, cinnamon, or jelly. Side dishes of ham and sausages complete the meal. Serves 4.
