ONION RINGS
Lg. mild onions
Cooking oil
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. all-purpose flour

Use wide, flat onions, peel and slice 1/4 inch thick. Separate and use outer rings. Heat about 2 inches oil in large fry pan. Dip, one at a time in the buttermilk, then into the flour. Carefully put rings into the pan, and fry on medium heat for several minutes, or until rings are lightly browned. Drain on absorbent paper. Don't try to cook too many at a time.
