JAM & WALNUT CAKE | |
2 1/2 c. flour 1/2 lb. unsalted butter 3 egg yolks 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. vanilla 3 tbsp. sugar 1 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved 1/2 c. whole milk 500 grams (16-18 oz.) Plum jam only 1/2 lb. ground walnuts 1. Mix flour, baking powder and sugar together. 2. Add in butter at room temperature; mix together. 3. Add in egg yolks, vanilla, yeast and milk; mix together. 4. Divide into 3 portions for 3 layers. 5. Use pan size, approximately 9"x13". Grease pan lightly and spread out 1 portion of dough along bottom of pan. 6. Spread out 1/2 amount of jam over this layer. 7. Spread out 1/2 amount of walnuts over jam. 8. Lay out second layer of dough over this portion. 9. Spread out second half of jam and walnuts. 10. Lay out top layer of dough over this. 11. Preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 degrees C.). 12. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until top is golden brown. |
