TEACAKES 
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. thick cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Mix together thoroughly the soft shortening, sugar and eggs. Stir in thick cream and vanilla. Sift together and stir in the flour, soda and salt. Chill dough. Roll out. Cut into 3" rounds or squares. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. For crisp cookies, roll thin, about 1/8". For soft cookie roll 1/4". Bake 8 to 10 minutes in 400 degree oven.
