WHITE FROSTING FOR COCONUT LAYER
CAKE
 
2 egg whites
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. white Karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla

In a saucepan combine the sugar, water, salt and Karo; bring to a hard boil, reduce heat to low, cover and cook 8 minutes. Gradually add syrup and vanilla to beaten egg whites. Beat until consistency to spread. After putting the frosting on the cool cake, sprinkle the coconut over the sides and top of the cake.
