CHICKEN & DRESSING - THE SIMPLE
WAY
 
1 whole chicken, stewed
1 qt. broth (saved from cooking chicken)
3 c. white bread crumbs
3 c. cornbread crumbs
3 c. cracker crumbs (1 pkg.)
1 1/2 c. chopped celery
1 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. sage
1 tsp. garlic
1 1/2 tsp. salt or to taste
2 tbsp. black pepper
2 tbsp. poultry seasoning

Mix all but first 2 ingredients. Add broth to moisten as deisred. Put 1/2 dressing in pan. Put chicken on top of dressing. Spread rest of dressing around chicken. Bake until brown at 350 degrees. (You can use canned chicken broth or celery soup), if desired.
