BANANA NUT BREAD 
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/3 c. shortening

Mix together. Stir in: 2 mashed bananas

Sift together and stir in: 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt

Stir in 1/2 cup chopped nuts. Pour into well greased loaf pan. Let stand 20 minutes before baking. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes.

A hint for freshening rolls or bread: Run water in heavy paper bag and drain out. Place bread in bag, fold end and secure with paper clips. Put bag in moderate oven until serving time. It will be as fresh as newly baked bread.
