BANANA - NUT BREAD 
1/3 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. mashed ripe banana
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream together shortening and sugar; add eggs; beat well. Sift together dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture alternately with banana, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts.

Pour into well greased 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes or until done. Remove from pan; cool on rack.
