1 c. butter
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Combine the first 3 ingredients and then add the next two. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. By the teaspoonful, roll the dough into balls and roll in additional sugar. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and press down with the bottom of a glass. Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes, or until slightly brown.
