FRENCH GARDEN PEAS 
1 1/2 c. shelled fresh green peas (1 1/2 lbs. in pods)
1 c. shredded lettuce
3 green onions, sliced
2 tbsp. water
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. sugar
Dash of pepper

Heat all ingredients to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer until peas are tender. About 8 minutes. 4 servings.

1 package (10 ounces) frozen green peas can be substituted for the fresh peas.
