CANNED SPAGHETTI SAUCE 
24 c. quartered tomatoes
6 c. diced onions
1 1/4 c. oil
3/4 c. sugar
6 tbsp. salt
6 tbsp. oregano
6 tbsp. sweet basil
2 tbsp. black pepper
1 tbsp. garlic powder or 5 1/2 tsp. chopped garlic
4 (12 oz.) cans tomato paste
6 whole bay leaves
Green pepper, optional

Quarter tomatoes, removing stems, green core and dark spots. Measure lightly packed in blender jar. Blend onions and tomatoes together and pour in large kettle. Add all other ingredients, mix well. Boil on low heat for at least 1 hour or longer for desired thickness. Pick out bay leaves and can. Yield about 8 1/2 quarts.
