CRISPY BATTER 
1 c. milk
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. flour
1 c. cornmeal
Salt and pepper

Mix egg and milk. Sift together flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper. Dip shrimp or other meat into milk and egg mixture. Coat with flour mixture. Fry in deep hot fat until brown. Drain on paper towels. Serve.
