These are almost like my oreo cookie truffles that I have been making for almost 10 years, but I don't separate the cream from the oreos and I put them in a food processor and dip them into unsweetened chocolate and semi sweet chocolate melted. Then I top them with different toppings such as sprinkles, crushed peanuts, powdered sugar, crushed oreo cookie crumbs.

My aunt makes these for all of our family get togethers and they're always the first thing to go! YUMMY!!

I have been making these for a year now. Everyone always says they are the greatest thing they've ever had. I like the idea of using a pretzel stick. I always have to fill in the hole from the toothpick. I rolled them in sprinkles & nuts this year for Christmas

 Jennie (North Dakota) says:
I made these for Christmas with Mint Oreos & they are wonderful! I only used 4 oz of cream cheese to 1 package of cookies & they were pretty easy to roll. I was told that using 8 oz of cream cheese made them harder to work with. I double dipped mine in almond bark so they were whiter & sprinkled some with red sugar crystals for Christmas!

 Jennifer (Illinois) says:
Do you have to refrigerate these after they are done or can they just sit on the counter. Thanks

 Kim (California) replies:
Jennifer - they can cool directly on the counter - they cool really fast! I have also heard you can use candy quick instead of the almond bark.

 Rachael (Georgia) says:
I add a pretzel stick to the center of mine... it gives the ball a cute little handle and adds a tiny bite of salty pretzel in the center of the sweet Oreo mixture.

I'm on my way to the store right now and can't wait to try this recipe. I'm really glad to find another new Oreo recipe. Thanks, pray for me that it turns out.

 Danelle says:
You can use peanut butter instead of cream cheese and it is delicious!

 Carol says:
Be sure to chill the balls before you dip them. If you want a whiter looking ball double dip them after they cool from the first dip dip them a second time. Come out very white. Everybody just raves about these where ever I take them. Enjoy.

The white chocolate chips worked OK... both places I went to find almond bark were sold out... I was in a hurry, so I gave up and just got white chocolate. The texture is a little heavier, so it can be a little more difficult, but it's workable.

Could not find almond bark...going to try with white chocolate chips...hope it turns out okay...

 Jacquelyn replies:
The almond bark is usually in the area where the chocolate chips are, it comes in a block. I have seen white, choc and strawberry flavors, the blocks are separated so they can be broken apart, for easy melting.

 Amanda replies:
I have tried the white chocolate disks... and they worked really well. The mint Oreos are good to use too. I did have problems with the double stuffed... so try to use the normal stuffed.

 Ashley (Tennessee) replies:
If you go to a craft store that sells baking supplies (Michaels, Hobby Lobby, JoAnns, etc.) you can often find bags of almond bark disks in multiple colors. Want to try pastel pink and green for Easter? No problem! It's often called "melting chocolate" and is simply almond bark in little disks, so they melt more easily.

 Karen says:
I love this recipe, but does anyone else have trouble with the white chocolate/almond bark turning darker after dipping the oreo balls? I have seen some pictures of this recipe where the coating stays white. Any suggestions?
   #55483
 Bee (Tennessee) replies:
Karen, the reason your chocolate is getting darker is most likely because you over-heated your chocolate. You want to melt the chocolate, but leave tiny chunks in it. It will eventually melt into it. Try it this way & let me know how it turns out! Good luck :)

This is a great recipe, I use a toothpick to dip in almond bark, need to chill for at least 1 1/2 hours before dipping. They are very good. My new recipe!!! Thank you.
