FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. cooking oil
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 small can of coconut
1 can of fruit cocktail, do not drain
1 stick butter
1/2 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Mix together 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and oil. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt and add to sugar mixture. Batter will be very thick. Add fruit cocktail.

Mix well. Pour in to a 9 inch x 13 inch x 2 inch pan. Sprinkle with can of coconut.

Bake for 30 minutes at 350°F.

Bring butter, evaporated milk and 3/4 cup of sugar to a boil and cook for 2 minutes. Add vanilla and pour over cake while both are hot. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
