FRENCH TOAST WITH CREAM CHEESE 
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 loaf French, Italian or Vienna bread, sliced
1/4 c. butter
6 eggs, beaten
1/3 c. milk
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 jar strawberry jam
Powdered sugar

Combine cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Spread 1 1/2 to 2 tablespoons of mixture between 2 slices of bread. Place 1/4 cup butter into 15 1/2" x 10 1/2" jelly roll pan. Put in oven to melt butter. Remove from oven. Mix beaten eggs, milk and nutmeg. Dip bread into egg mixture to coat all sides well. Place in jelly roll pan. Bake 7 minutes at 375 degrees. Turn and bake 7 more minutes at 400 degrees. Top with powdered sugar and jam.
