NO CRUST APPLE PIE 
6 med. tart apples, peeled & sliced thick
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. flour, sifted
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. brown sugar

Mix apples with sugar, cinnamon and water in a saucepan. Cook 10 minutes until partially cooked. Turn into a 9 inch pie pan. Cream butter and brown sugar. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and add to creamed mixture and mix. Sprinkle mixture over the apples. Bake at 350 degrees until apples are tender and the top is nicely browned. 45 minutes. Serve with a spoonful of whipped topping or ice cream. 6-8 servings.
