Eggless Cake

This is not an eggless recipe. Mayo is egg and oil, with a touch of vinegar.

The title "Eggless" just means that eggs are not in the ingredients list of items to add. So if you're out of eggs you can still make a cake. But there are eggs in the mayo, so if you wouldn't normally eat mayo, then don't use mayo here either.

In my book, if I don't need an egg to make something, then it is eggless!

Thanks Kelly, I was about to post the same thing. It needs to be said for those without allergies who are looking for a special recipe to bake for someone who DOES have allergies. If you don't have an egg allergy, you may not know that mayo has eggs in it.

I think that's the point -- The mayonnaise replaces the eggs for people who HAVE NO EGGS in the house. Duh.

While this recipe is fine if the the cook is "out" of eggs, please note that mayonnaise is made with eggs. I was looking for an eggless recipe for my child who has an egg allergy.
