TOFFEE TOPPED CAKE 
2 c. brown sugar, well packed
1/2 c. (1 stick) soft butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Blend brown sugar, flour and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Remove 1 cup of the mixture and reserve. To remaining mixture add the baking powder salt, vanilla, milk and egg. Mix until smooth and blended. Butter a 13"x9" cake pan. Turn batter into the pan, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle reserved crumbs over evenly, then sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until cake pulls away from the sides of the pan and the center tests done.
