I doubled the recipe to use up even more old milk. I used a 10x15 pan, and now I have a nice full pan of delicious cake. Great, easy recipe using ingredients that everyone has in their kitchen!

I used butter, reduced sugar by 1/4 cup and used half hard whole wheat flour. What a lovely, good tempered, tender yet bouncy, snackin' type cake! Yes, done after 35 minutes here..

I had a pint of half-and-half that had gone sour in my refrigerator. I didn't want to throw is out so I searched and found this recipe. I made the cake using butter, added 1/2 teaspoon of salt, included 1 cup of soft whole wheat flour as part of the flour, and used the sour half-and-half. The cake rose evenly and was light and delicious! Great quick recipe!
