1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 c. Crisco shortening
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
4 1/2 c. flour
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine sugars and shortening. Beat smooth. Add eggs one at a time. Add flavorings and beat well. Add soda and flour and mix until thoroughly blended. Add chips. This is a soft dough.

Scoop out with a large serving spoon and drop onto ungreased baking sheet. Use fingers to flatten, leaving about 1 inch between cookies.

Bake 5 minutes, then check to see if they are golden brown. Remove and allow to cool on cookie sheet 1 minute before removing. These cookies are so large they are fragile when warm so handle gently.

This recipe yields a monstrous amount of cookies so wrap some to give away.
