3/4 c. butter, soft
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar in large mixing bowl until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well. Refrigerate 1 hour. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. Bake on ungreased cookie sheets at 400 degrees for 6-8 minutes.
