"COOKIE MONSTER" GOLDEN
PEANUT-SESAME COOKIES
 
5 tbsp. sesame seeds
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
1/2 c. chunky peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/3 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

1. Bake sesame seeds in preheated 350 degree oven on ungreased cookie sheet until golden (about 10 minutes). Set aside.

2. Cream sugar and butter until smooth. Beat in peanut butter and egg.

3. Combine flour, 2 tablespoons sesame seeds, baking soda and nutmeg. Add to creamed mixture, mixing until blended.

4. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Flatten criss-cross fashion with fork.

5. Sprinkle with remaining sesame seeds.

6. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Yields: 3 dozen or more.
