SWISS STEAK 
1 round steak, cut into serving pieces
1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Mix flour and salt. 1/2 c. chopped green pepper 1/2 c. grated carrot 2 c. stewed tomatoes

Heat 1/4 cup Crisco or oil in heavy frying pan. Roll steak in flour, fry in medium hot pan until brown on both sides. Let simmer 10 or 15 minutes, put steak into covered baking dish, add 1 teaspoon flour to drippings, add 1/2 cup chopped onion, 1/2 cup chopped green pepper, 1/2 cup grated carrot and 2 cups tomatoes; heat in frying pan, pour over steak. Cover, let bake 1 to 1 1/2 hours in 350 degree oven. (Do not bake dry.)
