“GREEN APPLE CRISP” IS IN:

GREEN APPLE CRISP 
4 green apples, cored, peeled and sliced
juice and zest of 1 lemon
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. butter, cold
1 cup old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup English walnuts, crushed

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Place apple slices in the bottom of a casserole or pie dish. Juice lemon over it, and add zest.

Mix sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top. Cut butter into pea-size cubes and put on top.

In a mixing bowl combine oats, brown sugar and crushed walnuts. Sprinkle on top.

Place aluminum foil lightly over the top and put in oven at 350°F for 40 to 45 minutes, or until apples are cooked through.

Serve with sweetened whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
