SOUTHERN CHOWDER 
2 slices bacon
1/2 c. sliced celery
1/2 c. sliced onion
2 tbsp. minced pepper
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 can bean and bacon soup
1 can pea soup
1 1/2 soup cans water
16 oz. can tomatoes

In sauce pan cook bacon until crisp. Remove and crumble. In bacon drippings cook celery, onion, pepper, garlic and chili powder. Blend in soups and water. Add tomatoes and bacon. Heat, stirring occasionally. Makes 4 to 6 portions.
