REAL BUTTERSCOTCH PIE 
1 c. dark brown sugar
4 tbsp. cornstarch
3 egg yolks
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. dark karo
3 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt

Heat milk, mix sugar and cornstarch. Add to milk with Karo, boil until thick, add egg yolks. Place over hot water for 20 minutes add butter and vanilla. Pour into baked pie shell. Cover with butter.

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites, pinch of salt, 1/4 cup dark Karo. Beat egg whites until stiff add Karo. Place in hot oven until brown.
