MOM'S CHOCOLATE PIE | |
This is an old recipe from the 40's. 3 1/2 cups milk 3 large eggs, separated 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 real heaping tbsp. Hershey's cocoa powder 3 real heaping tbsp. all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 4 pats butter (1 tsp. ea.) 1 pre-baked pie shell Mix milk, egg yolks sugar, cocoa powder, flour and salt and cook till thickened. Cook about 2 more minutes after thickened then take off heat. Add vanilla and butter, stir and let sit to cool for about 15 minutes. Pour into pre-baked pie shell. Whip egg whites for meringue and spread on top of pie. Bake at 350°F till the meringue is golden brown. Submitted by: Donna D. Desso |
