MAMA SWAN'S POUND CAKE 
1/2 lb. butter, room temperature
1 2/3 c. sugar
5 eggs, room temperature
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time, beating for about 3 minutes after each addition. Add flour, salt and vanilla and beat well on low speed of mixer. Pour into a greased and floured tube pan. Put cake in cold oven. Turn to 300 degrees and bake 1 hour.

This is a great and easy recipe. My husband won't eat a box cake and though I tried several recipes, I never got it right. I did this time!
