CHOCOLATE OATMEAL CAKE 
1 c. rolled oats
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix rolled oats and boiling water together and let cool. Cream shortening, sugar and eggs. Mix with oats. Add to dry ingredients. Bake in 9"x13" pan for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

1 c. powdered sugar
2 c. coconut
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 c. milk

Mix well and boil until thick. Spread evenly over cake.
