HAMBURGER BUNS | |
1 pkg. active dry yeast 1 1/4 c. warm water 2 tbsp. sugar 4 c. Bisquick 2 tbsp. dry onion flakes or 1/3 c. grated cheese, or 2 tbsp. caraway seeds, 1 tsp. sage, and 1/2 tsp. nutmeg In mixer bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add sugar and 1/2 of the Bisquick. Beat 2 minutes on medium speed. Add remaining Bisquick and choice of onion flakes, grated cheese, or caraway seeds. Blend with spoon until smooth. Cover with cloth and let rise in warm place until double, about 30 minutes. Stir down by beating 25 strokes. Drop dough by spoonfuls on greased baking sheet, making 12 mounds 2 inches apart. Dough will be sticky. Flatten tops with floured fingers in rounds about 1/2 inch thick. Again let rise in warm place about 40 minutes. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Brush tops with shortening. |
