1 1/2 lb. ground beef 3 tbsp. finely chopped onion, if desired 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 tsp. Season All or season salt 2 (11 oz.) cans Campbell's Cheddar cheese soup mix 1/4 c. water (beer is preferred) 8 slices white, toasted bread French Fries (Ore-Ida Golden Crinkles are recommended), enough for 4 servings Combine ground beef, onions, pepper and Season All or season salt. Mix well and make 4 thin patties. Fry ground beef. In separate skillet fry French fries. In medium saucepan, combine soup mix and water. Stir with a wire whisk to a cheese sauce consistency (More or less water may be needed.) When fries, ground beef and cheese sauce are done, place 2 slices of toast on each plate and overlap slightly. Place beef patties on toast, top with French fries and pour cheese sauce as desired over top of all. Sliced turkey or ham may be substituted for ground beef. Note: When using turkey or ham, do not use seasonings for ground beef. Simply heat turkey or ham before placing on toast. |
