IRISH BROWN BREAD 
6 c. raisins
7 c. flour
4 tbsp. baking soda
2 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. allspice
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. butter
3 c. sugar
6 eggs, large

In a large sauce pan, cover raisins with water and bring to boil, reduce heat and simmer 15 minutes. Drain and reserve the raisin water. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and 2 cups of the raisin water. Beat well. Combine remaining dry ingredients, except for the raisins. Pour the moist batter over remaining dry ingredients. Mix well. Add raisins and mix well again. Set oven to 350 degrees. Pour mixture into 4 greased and floured loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour or until the bread is set. Remove bread from pans at once.
