OATMEAL GRANOLA BARS
4 c. quick rolled oats
1 c. melted butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chocolate chips, raisins, nuts, or whatever you like

Pour melted butter over oats. Mix thoroughly. Add all other ingredients. Pour into greased baking pan. Pat down with waxed paper over the top, remove paper. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until slightly golden. When almost cool, cut bars, then wrap each in waxed paper or saran.

You may substitute honey or maple syrup for the light corn syrup. Syrup if you like a sweeter bar.

I felt like it was very moist so the next time I made it I added an extra 1/2 cup of oats and it was just fine. It was so good!!!

This time when I made the bars, I used 1/2 c. light corn syrup and 1/4 c. pure maple syrup. It was sweeter and everyone really liked them.

Easy, good tasting. I would add the honey next time to make it a little sweeter.

Makes a very good homemade granola bar. Doesn't fall apart like some of the other granola bars. Is very versatile and you know what you are putting into the bar - no artificial ingredients.
