CARDAMOM BREAD | |
3 pkg. yeast 2 1/2 c. warm water 1 c. sugar 4 tsp. salt 1 c. shortening (1/2 butter, 1/2 shortening) 4 eggs 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 30 cardamom sees (pods), crushed 9 c. flour Mix and knead; let rise until doubled in bulk. Divide into 5 parts. Divide each portion into thirds and form braids. Let rise until light. Bake about 20 minutes. |
