NEW ENGLAND CHOWDER 
2 cans corn or 2 c. minced clams or cooked fish
4 lg. potatoes
1 lg. onion
1 can evaporated milk
2 tbsp. butter
dash of paprika
salt and pepper to taste

Saute onion, add potato and a little water to steam potatoes until soft. Add milk and the clams (corn or fish) and butter and seasonings. Heat but do not boil.
