VEGETABLE MORNAY 
Steam 2 packages frozen mixed vegetables in tightly covered saucepan, adding 1/4 cup water. Cover only until crispy, approximately 5 minutes. Drain, saving liquid for sauce.

Season with 1 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt, and 2 tablespoons butter. Spread vegetables in greased baking dish. Pour Mornay Sauce over them and cover with buttered bread crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until crumbs are brown.

MORNAY SAUCE:

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. sifted flour
2 c. liquid (1/2 from vegetables and enough half and half to make 2 c.)
1/4 c. grated cheddar cheese
Pinch of nutmeg
1/2 tsp. garlic salt

Melt butter and blend in flour. Let it brown slightly. Add liquid gradually, stirring constantly and cook until thick. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 5 minutes.
