APPLE COBBLER 
COBBLER:

6 baking apples
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 handful raisins
1 1/2 sticks butter, melted
1 tbsp. lemon juice

TOPPING:

1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Grease pan. In separate bowl, peel and slice 6 baking apples. Add lemon juice, 1 tablespoon sugar, cinnamon, raisins and mix with apples. Place this apple mixture in pan.

To make topping, in another bowl, mix together melted butter, flour, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 egg, and chopped walnuts. Place this mixture on top of apples in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until brown on top.

Pretty good. Need to move the butter to the Topping portion of the recipe. Made the mistake of putting the butter with the apples (as with apple pie). All in all, easy to make and tasty. When using unsalted butter, use 1/8 tsp salt or to taste.

I liked this recipe. I think it can use less butter. I used a stick and it was fine. Also, I added in oatmeal to the topping and thought it added a bit nutritionally and texture-wise. I didn't put in any lemon juice and frankly, I can't say what that would have done. I through a bunch of cinnamon on the dish half way when it was in the oven because I forgot it. In the end, all you really need to do is mix your serving in a bowl and add some half and half. Good stuff.
