CALIFORNIA CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground round steak
1 tbsp. oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
4-5 drops Tabasco
1 (1 lb.) can Italian tomatoes, chopped
1 (1 lb.) can kidney beans
3/4 c. rice, uncooked
1/4 c. chopped black olives
3/4 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Salt & pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook meat in oil. Add garlic, salt, pepper, onion, green pepper and chili powder. Cook 5 minutes. Add Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, tomatoes, kidney beans and rice. Turn into buttered 2 quart casserole. Bake, uncovered 45 minutes. Add olives; cheese and cook 5 minutes longer. Freezes and microwaves well. Serves 8.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
