SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
6 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. molasses (black)
1 c. cold coffee

Cream shortening well and add sugar gradually. Sift flour once before measuring. Sift flour, soda, salt, allspice, ginger and cinnamon together. Mix coffee and molasses, add to the creamed mixture alternately with flour mixture. Roll out 1/4" thickness and cut. Bake on greased baking sheet or pan. Bake in hot oven 15 minutes. Makes 5 dozen. Sugar before putting in oven.
