1 c. shortening
3 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
2 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. molasses
2 eggs
4 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. sour milk

Chill dough, then roll out on floured board. Cut out with a large cookie cutter. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
