PECAN SQUARES | |
2/3 c. confectioners' sugar 2 c. all-purpose flour 2 sticks butter 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9x12 pan. 2. Sift sugar and flour together. cut in butter, using pastry blender until fine crumbs form. Pat crust into baking pan. 3. Bake 20 minutes. Cool completely. TOPPING: 2/3 c. butter (melted) 1/2 c. honey 3 tbsp. heavy cream 1/2 c. brown sugar 3 1/2 c. shelled, chopped pecans 1. Mix melted butter, honey, cream and brown sugar together. Stir in pecans coating them thoroughly. Spread over crust. 2. Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes more. Cool completely before cutting into squares. Makes 36 squares. |
