LAYERED BEEF AND CABBAGE
CASSEROLE
 
1 lg. head cabbage
1/4 c. salad oil
3/4 tsp. salt
1 lb. ground beef or sausage
1 sm. minced onion
8 oz. pkg. shredded mozzarella cheese

Coarsely shred cabbage. Cook in oil over medium heat until very tender, stirring occasionally. Meanwhile prepare meat sauce. Brown meat. Add 32 ounces Prego sauce, 1 cup water and 1/3 cup rice. Simmer 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In 9 x 13 inch dish, spoon 1/2 cup meat sauce top with 1/2 cabbage. 1/2 remaining meat sauce, 1/2 cheese. Repeat layering with cheese on top. Bake 20 minutes.
