BROWN EYED SUSANS 
1 c. butter
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. almond extract
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Chocolate frosting
Whole almonds

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in extract. Add flour and salt; mix well. Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten slightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Cool; frost with chocolate frosting; top with almonds. 5 dozen.

CHOCOLATE FROSTING: Combine 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar and 2 tablespoons cocoa. Add 1 tablespoon hot water and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla; mix well.
