5 tbsp. hot water poured over 2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. flour
2 eggs

Add eggs and shortening to sugar mixture. Add dry ingredients and mix until well blended. Drop by spoonsful onto greased baking sheet. Place a raisin in center of each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes.
