APPLE WALNUT CHEESECAKE | |
Crust: 1/2 c. butter 1/3 c. sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1 c. flour Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough on bottom and about 2" up sides of 9" springform pan. 2 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese 3/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla Combine cream cheese and sugar; mix well. Blend in egg and vanilla. Pour into pan. 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 c. chopped walnuts 4 c. peeled apple slices (Granny Smith best) Combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in mixture. Spoon over cream cheese. Sprinkle with walnuts. Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 400°F and bake 25 minutes more. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pan. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving. |
