OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES 
1/2 c. butter or shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten lightly
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix lightly, roll thin and cut into shapes. Bake in a quick oven at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Watch carefully so as not to burn. Sprinkle with sugar.
