OLD FASHIONED TEA CAKES | |
1/2 c. shortening 1 1/4 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 1/2 c. flour 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt Cream shortening and sugar well. Add eggs one at a time, then add vanilla. Mix all until creamy. Add flour, baking powder, and salt, sifted together. Mix into creamed mixture a little at a time to make a stiff dough. Divide dough into two parts. Roll out real thin, cut in rounds with a small cutter. Bake about 12-15 minutes at 350-400 degrees. Makes about 7 dozen. |
