Slice angel food cake in half - set aside. Beat together 1 regular size of cream cheese (which has set out at room temperature to soften), with 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Beat until fluffy - add 3 teaspoons almond extract, beat again until well mixed. Very gently (with spatula) fold in 1 regular size of Cool Whip (in carton).
Put icing over top of bottom half of cake - put approximately (or a little less) of 1 can of cherry pie filing on top of icing. Put top layer on - ice - then ice sides, put cherries on top. May use cherries, blueberries, strawberries, etc. - but must be pie filing mix.
